C6 He Fought the Devil Insect

As the Devil Insect's six claws whirled at breakneck speed, a formidable force surged from the dagger. Shen Faang's eyes had just swept over the other four restless Devil Insects when a grating noise erupted from the blade, and a wisp of green smoke appeared, as if it were about to be pierced at any moment.

Wu Qi's face was a kaleidoscope of emotions as he witnessed the scene, fear etching itself deeply into his features. He trembled, a warmth spreading at his crotch, the sound of dripping reaching Shen Faang's ears. Before Shen Faang could even react, Wu Qi's face flushed with embarrassment.

"How humiliating!" Wu Qi chastised himself internally.

Meanwhile, Shen Faang felt the warmth generated in his abdomen after consuming the Devil Insect's tail. This warmth, a stream of energy, coursed through his veins, reaching every part of his body. His strength grew, and a rush of excitement surged within him, an effect of the Devil Insect's tail that mimicked the sensation of taking a stimulant. His adrenaline spiked, enhancing his reflexes, agility, and power. In an instant, Shen Faang's other hand deftly maneuvered the dagger into a crevice in the spinning Devil Insect's carapace. To Wu Qi, Shen Faang seemed as skilled as a master chef carving a roast. With a simple thrust of the blade, the Devil Insect's carapace and claws were severed, spilling thick yellow fluid before hitting the ground with a splat, the claws twitching helplessly.

"Incredible!" Wu Qi couldn't help but exclaim.

Shen Faang paid him no mind. As the dissected Devil Insect hit the floor, the remaining four, like soldiers awaiting orders, sprang into action with a slight flex of their claws, leaping like fleas and emitting an irritating squeak.

"This is bad!" Shen Faang thought, adrenaline sharpening his senses. He predicted the landing spots of the Devil Insects, his expression shifting rapidly. Without hesitation, he spun and delivered a powerful kick to the oblivious Wu Qi, sending him flying like a ragdoll. Shen Faang, now at least 30% stronger, ignored Wu Qi's pained grimace and turned with a grave look. Without a second thought, his blades whirled, striking with a series of thuds. Three Devil Insects were flung away, their carapaces shattered and leaking yellow fluid, yet they remained undeterred. In that moment, Shen Faang pivoted, his blade piercing a Devil Insect clinging to the wall where Wu Qi had stood. With a fierce chop and a crisp "crack," the Devil Insect was cleaved in two and dropped lifelessly to the ground.

Shen Faang whipped his head around, his gaze landing on the three Devil Insects still squirming with life. His eyes blazed with ferocity. Without giving the Devil Insects a chance to react, Shen Faang charged, his foot connecting with one and sending it flying. He sidestepped another that leaped at him and, with a swift parry of his knives, blocked the third one's leap, pinning it to the ground. His knife plunged down, piercing the shell of the Devil Insect and creating a gaping hole in its grotesque face. Before the resilient creature could struggle, Shen Faang flung the impaled Devil Insect aside.

Undeterred, Shen Faang marched on, his blade rising and falling, cleaving the kicked Devil Insect in two. His body was drenched in the thick, yellow fluid of the Devil Insects, a nauseating odor clinging to him. But he was unfazed; what was a mere stench when life was at stake? To Shen Faang, being alive was the ultimate victory, and any foul smell paled in comparison.

A thought flickered through Shen Faang's mind, a smirk tugging at his lips as he let out a chuckle. Indeed, the saying held true: "In a narrow pass, the brave man wins." Had it been anyone else, they would have been bitten and turned into zombies by now, but he had slain four Devil Insects unscathed, and the fifth was hardly a concern.

The sole surviving Devil Insect was now gripped by fear, understanding the concept all too well. Despite their resemblance to Earth's ordinary insects, albeit uglier, these creatures were intelligent beings capable of evolution. Their primary intelligence was childlike, with remnants of their bestial nature, lacking in reason. But given time to evolve, they could think as humans do. The horror of such a prospect was palpable.

Shen Faang had no mercy for the last Devil Insect, which, despite retreating with a series of squeaks, had clearly given up on attacking him.

Moments later, as Wu Qi clutched his stomach, pale-faced, Chen Feng held the last Devil Insect, forcing its mouth onto the tails of the deceased ones. After the four Devil Insects had their essence drained and became nothing more than husks, the one in Chen Feng's grasp ceased all movement, seemingly asleep after its feast. Witnessing this, a flicker of murderous intent danced in Shen Faang's eyes.

With a swift motion, Shen Faang sliced off the tail of the Devil Insect. Clutching the shell, he squeezed the fluid into his mouth. The rich essence surged through his body, igniting a fervor within him as he felt a boundless strength coursing through his limbs and bones.

His fortune was undeniable. The Devil Insect, having absorbed four others—particularly the one initially in a berserk state—had fallen into an evolutionary slumber due to the saturation of energy in its body.

The immense energy within the tail was evident, and as Shen Faang's body gradually absorbed the essence, his confidence in his future survival soared.

Shen Faang took a deep breath, glanced at Wu Qi who had come to, and said with a smile, "Wu Qi, let's get going!"

He stepped forward and helped Wu Qi to his feet, not even blinking at the sight of his damp trousers. Wu Qi, supported by Shen Faang, couldn't shake the feeling that the classmate before him was somehow profoundly unfamiliar.
