C23 Xiufen

Yang Chao swung open the school gates and welcomed them inside. They had barely stepped foot onto the premises when they were greeted by an expansive sports field dotted with an array of athletic equipment, including a basketball court.

To the naked eye, the facilities appeared quite impressive. The more they observed, the more the beauty of the environment captivated them, suggesting that they might well be at a prestigious university.

The group was so enchanted that they momentarily forgot they were visiting a Senior University. Even Chu Qiao found herself thoughtfully stroking her chin in surprise.

"Bro, this school even outshines the one I went to. How can this be a Senior University with such top-notch facilities? Are you sure there's no catch?"

Chu Qiao was enrolled at a renowned local university, known for its exceptional standards in every respect. Yet, here he was, at a Senior University, taken aback by the equally impressive amenities, which left him somewhat disoriented.

Yang Chao advanced and nonchalantly opened a classroom door, revealing a scene inside that defied belief. People were jogging and others were vigorously working out with punching bags.

"My goodness, are these really seniors? At their age, they're still engaging in such activities? You're certain this isn't detrimental to their health?"

Chu Qiao watched, dumbfounded. This was an entirely new sight for them; the idea of seniors engaging in high-risk sports was unheard of.

In the midst of their conversation, they watched an elderly gentleman with silver hair effortlessly mount the horizontal bar and begin his routine, executing movements with a precision that rivaled those of much younger individuals. It was astounding.

"Wang Jianguo, these are the parents of our new teacher. He's a bit concerned about our school. Could you take a moment to fill them in?" Yang Chao beckoned someone over.

Upon hearing this, Wang Jianguo dashed over, setting aside his tasks to address the newcomers.

"You must be Chu Sixue's parents. Hello, hello. Xue has been doing quite well here these past few days. You're here to check out the school, aren't you?"

While he spoke, Chu Sixue emerged from a nearby compartment, carrying a tray with her meal, freshly served and ready to eat. Spotting her parents, she approached, and they quietly exchanged words.

"Xue, what are you up to? Are you seriously planning to serve them meals here? It's already early morning; have you even had breakfast? We came to check on you, worried something might have gone wrong."

Her mother approached with a look of concern. This was her only daughter; how could she not fret over her well-being?

Any issue, no matter how small, would be hard for a mother to stomach. Ensuring her daughter's safety and job stability was paramount.

Chu Sixue hadn't anticipated her parents' sudden visit. Reflecting briefly, she realized it was due to yesterday's phone call that prompted their arrival. With a resigned sigh, she said,

"Alright, if that's how it is, I'll show you my daily work routine. Plus, our school has surveillance cameras, so you can see everything I do."

She grabbed a computer from a nearby table and played the sped-up surveillance footage. After watching, her parents' anxiety eased somewhat.

As long as their daughter wasn't doing anything inappropriate or enduring hardships, that was enough.

Otherwise, the thought alone would be too much for any parent to bear.

Throughout the day, Chu Sixue's parents discreetly shadowed her at work, their presence a constant source of discomfort.

Only after several days of observation did they leave, content but insisting on regular video calls to confirm her safety.

Once they departed, all the seniors exhaled in relief. "With Xue's parents around, we've been walking on eggshells, unable to do anything. It's been utterly stifling."

They were used to their routines of exercise and enjoying hotpot, but with Xue's parents present, they had to hold back, lest they give them a fright.

What if they scared off the new, charming teacher? And if the parents disapproved, it would spell disaster.

That's why the old gentlemen had been so restrained, their cultivation practices completely disrupted.

Yang Chao, observing their grievances, gave a slight nod and spoke softly, "Alright, no need to fret now. They've gone, and I've been planning to take a little trip myself soon."

Staying cooped up in the school all the time can be pretty dull. It's high time to venture out and see the world. It's been ages since I last checked in on its progress, and I can hardly make heads or tails of the current state of affairs, including the global dynamics. Yang Chao felt out of touch.

Getting out more, seeing more, and understanding the current situation could only be beneficial.

"Hey, by the way, Innate Master, didn't you give Du Changsheng one chance? But it doesn't look like he's the type to come and offer you an apology, especially since his son Tianhao hasn't shown any sign of it either. Does that really sound like someone who wants to make amends?" Soong Qingfeng suddenly remembered this issue and frowned, his eyes betraying his impatience.

Everyone knew about Du Tianhao's previous disgraceful behavior here, even bringing that woman along to stir up trouble.

We all assumed Du Changsheng would rush over to offer an apology – that's the least anyone should do.

But unexpectedly, since getting the principal's nod last time, he hasn't shown up again.

"The principal said to let it go, and I agree. Don't waste your time on him. I doubt he's a good person. At his age, to still be so brazen, there's got to be something off," the group of elders chimed in, which made Yang Chao think that if we were to talk about arrogance, perhaps everyone here had a touch of it.

Du Changsheng was simply too ostentatious, and it seems he didn't foresee the consequences this time.

"Let's drop it; I've already come to a conclusion about this matter. There's no need for you all to fret. If he dares to step out of line, I'm confident our school won't be a place he, or anyone else for that matter, can just waltz into."
