C17 Remedy
Old Man Wang was quick on his feet, immediately stepping forward to address the leader. With the leader present, the principal was naturally reluctant to say much.
"No issues here. I've come to see that your school is quite impressive. I'm looking to increase my investment, particularly because of you folks. Despite your age, you all have such vitality—it's truly heartening to witness."
Wong Jie nodded in approval. Initially, he had pegged them as just a group of average elderly folks and was puzzled by their remarkable abilities. But it all clicked when he learned about the water they drank, infused with spiritual power. No wonder they were formidable! With spiritual power at their disposal, their physical condition was bound to be superior.
"By the way, I'm prepared to invest three million yuan to help you establish a new school. If you're interested, I'll transfer the funds and provide an official seal of approval."
The idea struck Wong Jie suddenly, and he glanced at Yang Chao. The thought of Yang Chao, with his modest university, managing alone in such a place seemed almost unfair.
Regardless, Wong Jie knew he had to look after Yang Chao and ingratiate himself with this influential figure.
"There's no need, Leader. We're not short on funds here. You've seen our living conditions; money has never been our shortfall," Yang Chao said, scratching his head awkwardly. The leader had just requested a slew of health-boosting items from him.
Who would have guessed that this leader, despite his advanced years, would still be seeking such things?
"Well then, I'll take my leave. Should you require anything down the line, don't hesitate to reach out. There's no need for formalities. Your school is currently top-notch, and I'm here to offer my support."
With those parting words, Wong Jie turned to leave, casting a contemplative look at Yang Chao. His eyes were brimming with respect.
Even as a leader, what did that matter? Yang Chao was a cultivator—a true powerhouse in their eyes.
It's rumored that cultivators can achieve eternal life. If Yang Chao ever reaches that state, it would surely be a boon for them all.
After the leader had departed, Yang Chao turned to his companions, frustration evident on his face. "What are you all up to? At a time like this, you're still messing around? You must be out of your minds with boredom."
Thankfully, the leader wasn't oblivious and had recognized the issue at hand. Otherwise, given their current antics, it would only be a matter of time before trouble ensued.
And to think, these were the leaders, the very people who held the school's fate in their hands, yet here they were, causing chaos. Their disregard for order was escalating.
Soong Qingfeng, scratching his head sheepishly, offered a hesitant chuckle. "Hey, boss, got any new missions for us? We're twiddling our thumbs over here. Just give us the word, and we'll be right over to check out the latest scoop."
They all spoke of the importance of diligent cultivation, but even after such dedicated practice, they often found themselves restless with boredom. Why overthink it? They decided to just do whatever brought them joy.
In the past, the boss would spring missions on them out of the blue, catching them off guard. They wondered what he might have in store for them this time.
The group looked on, their curiosity piqued.
Yang Chao was about to say there were no new missions when he heard a beep from the system. Glancing at it, he discovered his next task: spend a whopping 50 million in a single day!
With a sly grin, Yang Chao addressed the group. "So, any of you have a plan to blow through 50 million in a day—without splurging on houses or cars—and make sure it's spent on something worthwhile? What do you think?"
The system's quirky missions often seemed endearing, but Yang Chao was glad he had the chops to handle them. Anyone else might think he'd lost his marbles.
The others immediately burst into a flurry of conversation.
"Boss, if we can't buy property, then what's left? With that kind of cash, we can't just fritter it all away on random purchases, can we? That's not an option."
"Didn't you hear? The boss wants us to invest this money wisely. There's a difference when funds are used purposefully. But where exactly? We'll have to wait and see what the boss has in mind."
The group began to deliberate.
Yang Chao listened to their lengthy discussions, but none of it seemed particularly reliable.
They talked at length without reaching a conclusion on how to spend the 50 million. In today's society, such a sum could easily buy houses, cars, or even a villa.
"Boss, why don't we consider hiring some teachers? Maybe you could turn this into a challenge and see how people respond to it," Old Man Wang suggested gently when he arrived in the morning. The situation was a bit off; the Senior University used to have at least a few young nurses, but now, it seemed like the principal was the only one left.
Regardless, the number of people here was too few, and they needed to address it immediately—adding more staff was essential.
Yang Chao nodded, deep in thought. Old Man Wang was right. Lately, only officials from the Education and Investigation Bureau had been visiting. If others came to check on things and found no caregivers or nurses to look after the elderly, the place would be deemed useless, and they might even face closure.
Even the seniors considering staying here would likely be dismayed by such conditions.
"Okay, if that's the case, go ahead and post a job listing. Let's announce that we're looking to hire some new teachers, and we'll offer a competitive salary," he decided.
