C19 It Was so Lively as Soon as He Arrived!

"Mr. Wuji, is that really you?" Yang Buhui recognized Zhang Wuji and exclaimed with joy, "What brings you here? Did you come to see me?"

"I'm here with my grandfather and the others as reinforcements," Zhang Wuji explained. "But I made better time and got here ahead of them."

"Oh, so you didn't come just for me," Yang Buhui pouted, her disappointment evident.

Zhang Wuji chuckled. "If I wasn't here to see you, why would I have hurried?"

His words, though not entirely truthful, delighted Yang Buhui. "I just knew you were always thinking of me, Mr. Wuji."

Lin Yuanjian watched Zhang Wuji with a smirk. The kid sure had a way with the ladies.

"Go on and patrol. I can handle things here," Yang Buhui told the dozen Golden Flag disciples, effectively dismissing them.

The leader responded obediently, "Yes, Miss."

"And who might this gentleman be?" Yang Buhui inquired, eyeing Lin Yuanjian with curiosity. His striking features and aura were impossible to ignore.

"This is my master," Zhang Wuji introduced.

"What?" Yang Buhui's eyes went wide with incredulity. "Mr. Wuji, are you kidding me? How can he be your master when he's so young?"

Lin Yuanjian massaged his temples. "My dear, there's no rule that says a master has to be an old man, is there?"

Yang Buhui's laughter rang out. "Mr. Wuji, your young master is quite the character."

"You'll believe me once you've seen my master's skills," Zhang Wuji assured her with a smile.

"Then I can't wait to see," Yang Buhui said cheerfully, linking her arm with Zhang Wuji's and smiling up at Lin Yuanjian. "Come with me. I'll find you a place to stay for now. My father's tied up with work, but I'll make time to introduce you to him tomorrow."

"Thank you, Sister Buhui," Zhang Wuji replied gratefully.

That night, under Yang Buhui's arrangements, the master and disciple settled in at the Bright Cult's main altar atop Bright Peak.

But their rest was short-lived, as Yang Buhui soon whisked Zhang Wuji away on the pretense of having fun.

Lin Yuanjian, naturally, was not one to sit idly by. His true intention was to uncover the secrets of the Bright Cult's hidden paths.

"Sigh, the disciple gets to charm the ladies while the master is left with the grunt work."

Still, the success of his disciple was crucial to his own goal of returning home sooner, so he resolved to do whatever it took to bolster his protégé's strength.

Lin Yuanjian soon realized a frustrating oversight—he'd forgotten where the entrance to the secret path was. Though familiar with the plot of 'The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber,' he hadn't committed the finer details to memory.

One name quickly surfaced in Lin Yuanjian's thoughts: Xiaozhao.

She alone knew how to access the Bright Cult's secret paths. Lin Yuanjian was aware that Golden Flower Grandma had sent her to infiltrate Bright Peak to seize the Universe Great Teleportation technique. She was likely somewhere nearby.

Finding her would be akin to finding the key to the secret passages.

But how to convince her to lead him there?

After much contemplation, Lin Yuanjian muttered to himself, "First things first, I need to find her."

Without delay, Lin Yuanjian became a silent shadow, disappearing into the darkness.

Searching for someone in the vast expanse of the Bright Cult's main altar was no simple task, especially when that someone was a stranger.

Lin Yuanjian was aware that she served as Yang Buhui's maid and had intentionally disguised herself to look unattractive—a trait that should have been quite noticeable.

But searching blindly in the dead of night proved to be a challenging task.

Wandering aimlessly from house to house, Lin Yuanjian conducted a thorough search to no avail, and ultimately, he resigned himself to returning to his room for the night.

"I'll just have to find an opportunity to ask that young lady Yang Buhui tomorrow."

Dawn broke, and Bright Peak was bathed in a soft, warm glow.

"Did you enjoy yourself last night?" Lin Yuanjian asked Zhang Wuji, his smile tinged with a hint of teasing, as he watched him munch on a steamed bun.

The breakfast, generously provided by Yang Buhui herself, included white steamed buns, crispy fried dough sticks, and two large bowls of aromatic pork porridge.

Zhang Wuji polished off the last piece of bun and beamed, "Absolutely, I haven't felt this happy in a long time."

A moment later, he added sheepishly, "Master, please don't get the wrong idea. My relationship with Sister Buhui is purely fraternal."

Lin Yuanjian gave an exasperated eye roll. "I didn't suggest otherwise. Why the rush to clarify?"

"So, Master, what's our next move?" Zhang Wuji deftly steered the conversation elsewhere.

"You're quite close to Yang Buhui, right? Keep an eye out for a maid named Xiaozhao around her," Lin Yuanjian instructed.

"Understood, I'll be vigilant," Zhang Wuji responded without inquiring further, readily accepting the task.

Despite the option to exchange 3000 Essence Stones for the Universe Great Teleportation through the system, Lin Yuanjian found it an impractical trade.

Why pay such a steep price when there's an alternative at hand? Essence Stones were, after all, exceedingly valuable!

Lin Yuanjian went on, "The six major sects have likely initiated their plans by now. We just need to brace ourselves for the impending battle."

"Do I truly have to become the leader of the Bright Cult to settle this conflict between good and evil?" Zhang Wuji appeared somewhat bewildered.

"Undoubtedly," Lin Yuanjian affirmed. "You hold the status of a Wudang disciple in the eyes of many, yet you're also the nephew of the Eagle King. You alone have the power to mend the increasingly hostile relations between the righteous and the wicked."

Zhang Wuji pondered deeply before expressing his gratitude, "Thank you, Master, for illuminating my path. I will hold your guidance close to my heart."

Lin Yuanjian gazed up at the clear blue sky and mused, "Once you command the Bright Cult to dethrone the Imperial Court and restore the Han dynasty, it will be time for your Master to depart."

"Depart?" Zhang Wuji was puzzled, a sense of melancholy involuntarily rising within him. Did this departure mean a final farewell?

Lin Yuanjian let out a light chuckle, "Let's not dwell on such somber thoughts. First, we should pay a visit to Left Envoy Yang."

"Sister Buhui has already gone to see Left Envoy Yang," Zhang Wuji informed him. "We should wait for her return here."

No sooner had he spoken than Yang Buhui burst in from outside.

"Brother Wuji, hurry, come with me. My father wishes to see us."

Following Yang Buhui, they quickly made their way to a grand hall.

Despite the daylight, the hall was illuminated by blazing fires on either side.

The undying Holy Flame symbolized the Bright Cult's totem, an emblem of their enduring commitment to benevolence and the eradication of evil.

"Enough," Yang Xiao interjected, "I didn't summon you for a war of words. The six major sects are on the verge of assaulting Bright Peak. What's the point in squabbling amongst ourselves now?"

As Lin Yuanjian stepped into the grand hall, a robust voice immediately filled the air.

"Hehe, to prevent chaos without a leader, someone must step up to command. Those were your words, Yang Xiao. Perhaps today is the day we decide on this matter," said a voice, tinged with a sharp edge.

With a hint of mockery, Yang Xiao retorted, "The Eagle King and the Bat King haven't even arrived, yet here you are, Zhou Dian, in such a hurry. Maybe we should just nominate you as the sect leader, hm?"

Hearing this, Lin Yuanjian couldn't help but chuckle to himself. The place was buzzing with excitement right from the moment he arrived.
