The shattered tower loomed silently in the depths of darkness, its surface marred with a patchwork of blemishes. Several horrific cracks snaked their way across it, as though a monstrous creature had slashed at it with its claws.

A bonfire of white bones flickered weakly, on the brink of extinction. Occasionally, sparks would dance into the air, only to vanish in an instant
