C11 True Dragon Roars
"Why did you ask me to leave earlier?" Chu Tianyu asked, his face flushing easily, but he wasn't ready to part with the two girls just yet. Nonetheless, he had to come up with an excuse to leave at Ao Xingyun's request.
"Kid, have you taken a liking to that young lady?" Ao Xingyun ribbed him.
"What are you talking about?" Chu Tianyu sputtered, his expression betraying his panic.
"If you're fond of her, you should be more daring. She's quite a catch – not only is she beautiful, but she also has a great personality and impressive talents."
"Is that so?!" Chu Tianyu exclaimed, more thrilled by this affirmation than any compliment he could receive about himself.
"There's nothing like the vibrancy of youth!" Ao Xingyun remarked with a hint of nostalgia. "Now, let's get to the matter at hand."
Chu Tianyu paid close attention, sensing the gravity of what Ao Xingyun was about to disclose. "Please, go on, big brother."
"You've been curious about my background, haven't you?" Ao Xingyun paused before revealing, "I am a five-clawed golden dragon from the Dragon Clan." As he spoke, the image of a majestic and noble golden dragon, commanding respect from all, filled Chu Tianyu's mind.
Chu Tianyu was astounded. A dragon – he had actually encountered a dragon! He murmured in disbelief, "I never imagined dragons were real."
Ao Xingyun went on, "I have lived for over a thousand years, reaching the pinnacle of Saint Level strength. Yet, just ten days ago, I was betrayed by my own brother, all for an inheritance that was rightfully mine."
His voice was tinged with sorrow and rage, deeply resonating with Chu Tianyu. "Who is he?"
"Let it be. This is my affair to settle. I'll seek my vengeance, though the chance may never come."
Changing his tone, Ao Xingyun said, "Do you know the origin of this vast crater? I was besieged by four individuals stronger than myself. Knowing I couldn't escape without harm, I chose self-destruction, allowing my soul to escape with some of my vital blood. This is what I've been reduced to, but I suspect they didn't get off lightly either. If they didn't perish, they're certainly crippled!" Ao Xingyun's voice carried a note of grim satisfaction as he recounted the tale.
After listening to Ao Xingyun, Chu Tianyu couldn't help but admire him immensely. His readiness to repay both kindness and enmity, and his unyielding spirit, epitomized the qualities of a true man.
"You're concerned about the time it's going to take, right? In this place, your physical body will strengthen rapidly."
"What should I do?" Chu Tianyu asked, his excitement palpable upon learning there was a solution.
"Soon, I'll impart to you the Dragon Clan's authentic body tempering technique. It's the secret behind our race's formidable strength. But you must vow to keep it to yourself; revealing it would provoke the wrath of the Dragon Clan and they would not hesitate to pursue you."
Ao Xingyun's grave tone sent a shiver down Chu Tianyu's spine. Yet, the thrill of receiving such a revered technique from the Dragon Clan, a race that stood at the pinnacle wherever they went, with their indomitable physical prowess, was overwhelming.
"I swear by the heavens and earth that I will not divulge this technique, or may my existence and path be utterly destroyed!"
Ao Xingyun appeared pleased with the pledge. Truth be told, he was taking a significant risk, but after spending so many days with Tianyu, he had come to trust his character. Besides, Tianyu had made a solemn oath.
"Stay vigilant and protect your mind!"
Chu Tianyu braced himself, and suddenly, his mind was filled with the echoes of countless dragon roars—some lofty, some deep, some majestic, and others nonchalant. Despite their diversity, each roar shared the intrinsic essence of true dragon might.
Dragons possess an exalted life force and are among the most ancient of races, exerting an innate dominance over all beings—that is the power of dragon might.
Chu Tianyu's complexion turned ashen, sweat poured down his face, his lips sealed tight, and his veins bulged, a testament to the immense pressure he was enduring.
A single dragon's roar could subjugate creatures, and here he was, faced with billions. Even diluted countless times over, the roar was still that of a dragon. The pressure was immense, but the potential benefits were equally substantial.
The might of the dragon acts upon the deepest recesses of the soul, naturally cleansing and fortifying it, making the soul more robust and better able to resist oppressive forces.
If he could just endure this trial, standing beneath a True Dragon in the future would bring no pressure or fear! If one fears the might of a True Dragon, how can one aspire to defy the heavens or continue their cultivation?
Chu Tianyu's face was ashen, devoid of any color, and his body shook like a leaf in the wind, yet he continued to persevere!
Describing Chu Tianyu's ordeal as an eternity would be an understatement. The transfer of power lasted only a few moments, but to him, it felt longer than the past two decades!
At last, the transfer was complete. The oppressive force vanished in the blink of an eye, and Chu Tianyu collapsed, exhausted from the immense mental exertion.
Despite Chu Tianyu's disheveled appearance, Ao Xingyun held him in high esteem. He had intended only for Chu Tianyu to have a taste of the experience and planned to intervene when he could no longer endure. He had not truly believed Chu Tianyu would last through the ordeal, especially since it involved the roar of an actual dragon!
After what seemed like an eternity, Chu Tianyu rose from the desolate ground. "Big brother, is it finished?"
"It finished a while back!" Ao Xingyun replied nonchalantly.
"How come I didn't realize it had ended? And how long have I been asleep? Why didn't you wake me?"
"You've been out for two days. Now, go and cultivate! You're just about ready to start, but be warned, integrating the dragon's blood into your system might be excruciating. If it becomes unbearable, you must stop immediately. Forcing it could lead to severe complications," Ao Xingyun cautioned.
"I'll keep that in mind, big brother! By the way, where's the dragon's blood?" Chu Tianyu inquired, looking around the barren landscape that was devoid of any life, let alone any sign of dragon's blood.
"The dragon's blood is all around us. When I self-destructed, my blood dispersed into countless particles, mingling with the spiritual energy. It's scattered for miles around the crater, becoming denser towards the center. Start your search a hundred miles out," Ao Xingyun explained.
"Ah, it's everywhere! Why does it look like cabbage!" exclaimed Chu Tianyu, his mouth agape.
He was actually comparing the invaluable blood of the Five-clawed Golden Dragon to cabbage? If Ao Xingyun had a nose, it would surely be bent out of shape with irritation!
The Dragon Clan is the most ancient race in existence, ranking alongside the Phoenix, Qilin, and Golden-Winged Roc among other formidable races. In fact, they are considered superior. Despite the scarcity of pure-blooded True Dragons within the Dragon Clan today, their numbers are still significant. In contrast, pure-blooded individuals from the other three major races are few and far between, making the Dragon Clan not just a little stronger, but arguably the most powerful race of all.
The underlying reason for their dominance is the Dragon Clan's incredibly powerful physical form, which has led to a succession of formidable experts. Their bloodline's power has been maximized, ensuring that the Dragon Clan not only avoids decline but actually thrives even more.
This is a widely accepted truth, yet the Dragon Clan's secret remains known only to a select few pure-blooded members. This mystery is also a key factor in the Clan's enduring prosperity.
The bloodlines of the four great races are undeniably potent. Even when diluted to the extreme over countless generations, those with the thinnest connection still possess innate talents and a slim chance of ascending to the Saint Level.
It's important to recognize that among the myriad creatures of the world, those who achieve Saint Level status are invariably endowed with exceptional talent and defy the odds of fortune. And yet, the descendants of the four races can reach such heights simply by leveraging a trace of their bloodline's power, which is nothing short of miraculous.
These ordinary Dragon Clan bloodlines pale in comparison to the true dragons, the difference being as vast as that between heaven and earth. The pure-blooded Five-clawed Golden Dragon stands as the emperor among them, the darling of the cosmos, with bloodline power that far surpasses that of an average true dragon. A single drop of its blood has the potential to forge a powerhouse capable of shaking the very foundations of the world.
