C25 The Power of the Mosasaur!

"Hahaha, boss, looks like the East Sea has churned out another powerhouse. Should we try to bring him into our pirate crew?"

Atop the East Sea, a massive pirate ship sailed, its mast adorned with a black flag bearing a skull with three scratch marks over its left eye.

On deck stood a man with grey hair, a long, pointed chin, and a sturdy build. A scar marked his arm, a cigarette dangled from his lips, and he was clad in a black shirt with a rifle slung at his waist, all beneath a cloak swirling with patterns. He held a bounty notice in his hand and laughed heartily.

"Joining our pirate crew isn't a walk in the plank. We've got to gauge his strength first. After all, a bounty doesn't necessarily equate to power."

Shanks leaned casually against the railing, puffing on his cigarette with a chuckle.

"Hahaha, indeed."

"Our sights are set elsewhere. If he can carve out a reputation on the Grand Line, then it won't be too late to consider recruiting him."

Shanks spoke with a subtle smile, his youthful face belying the unique presence he exuded.

"Exactly, our eyes are on the New World. Hahaha... I can hardly wait!"

...

In the doldrums.

The Australovenator aboard the ship let out a thunderous roar at the sea, its sharp claws glinting menacingly.

Ahead in the water, two enormous shadows thrashed, churning the sea.

Beneath the waves.

A colossal sea snake, a hundred meters in length, was wrapped tightly around the mosasaur. Its body squeezed relentlessly, its formidable strength grinding against the mosasaur in an attempt to crush it.

But the mosasaur's scales, bristling with tiny, sharp spines, turned the tables, lacerating the sea snake's flesh and causing blood to pour forth.

The mosasaur, with its fearsome jaws, clamped down on the sea snake's massive frame.

"Ah!" The sea snake emitted a piercing scream, uncharacteristic of its kind, as intense pain radiated from the wound.

"Puff! Puff!"

The mosasaur's formidable bite force was unleashed, its teeth, each ten centimeters long, instantly piercing through the sea snake's meter-thick body.

Gushes of bright red blood spread, staining the surrounding seawater crimson.

The sea snake writhed in agony, its colossal head biting back at the mosasaur's body.

"Clang!"

"Crack!"

The sea snake's venomous fangs snapped abruptly, unable to penetrate the mosasaur's hide.

With another powerful clamp, the mosasaur's menacing jaws snapped shut.

"Splash!"

The sea snake's thick, one-meter body was severed in an instant, its coiled form unraveling and plummeting downward.

Blood billowed out, staining the surrounding sea a deep crimson.

The pungent scent of blood permeated the water.

"Roar! Roar! Roar!"

In the abyss, nearby sea kings paused, their eyes gleaming. They wheeled around and surged in a unified direction.

The mosasaur issued a thunderous roar, then with a powerful flick of its tail, it transformed into a blur of gray light, clamping down on the descending sea snake's body and commencing its feast.

Just then, two moon-like vertical pupils flared to life on either side of it.

The mosasaur halted, casting a discerning gaze in their direction.

Flanking it were two colossal sea kings, each spanning hundreds of meters. One bore a massive crocodile head atop a frog's body, the other a gargantuan snake head with writhing tentacles. Their immense forms eclipsed much of the light.

In the presence of these behemoths, the twenty-meter mosasaur seemed no more than a minnow.

Yet, undaunted, its eyes glinted with a ferocious light.

Having devoured its prey, the mosasaur whipped its tail, activating a tenfold surge in speed. It became a streak of gray, hurtling towards one of the sea kings with predatory intent.
