C14 Team Thunder's Fighting Style
"Let's move. I'll draw it out. Liu Feng, you're on covering fire. Xinran, protect me. Qin Wu, seize the chance to snatch the Water Spirit Seed." Lei Boshi instructed as he passed the magic weapon to Qin Wu.
Qin Wu nodded, his body shrouded in a dark demon aura. The chilling presence spread around him, and he gradually vanished, leaving only a shadow. Below, a shadow paced restlessly—it was the low-level arcane skill, Shadow Escape.
Liu Feng watched with envy. If he could master that skill, wouldn't he be able to navigate a demon's lair with ease? Alas, even though he had awakened the shadow skill, it turned out to be practically useless.
Lei Boshi channeled Magicka, drawing thunder elements from all around. The air snapped and popped as he amassed arcs of lightning between his hands. Bringing his hands together, a ball of violent, purple lightning, as if ready to burst forth, formed in his grasp.
"Thunder Explosion!" Lei Boshi hurled the lightning ball forward. It traced an arc through the air towards the spirit seed's location.
"Boom!"
The ground shook violently, and a guttural roar erupted from the spirit seed's resting place. In response, massive green vines, bristling with sharp thorns, shot out towards Lei Boshi.
"Shelter of Water!" Ai Xinran bellowed, her Magicka exploding in an instant. Magical power radiated from her, and under its oppressive force, water elements swiftly converged to create a water blue barrier.
The Water Barrier stood between Lei Boshi's team and the onslaught of vines.
"Clang! Clang!"
The vine's thrusts were thwarted by the Water Barrier, which they lashed against in a frenzy.
"I can't keep this up much longer. Hurry!" Ai Xinran cried out, straining to maintain the barrier with both hands.
The vines whipped the Water Barrier only a few times before it cracked, teetering on the brink of collapse. But the brief respite they gained was enough.
"Crash!"
The Water Barrier shattered, dissolving into countless droplets that scattered into the air.
Taking advantage of the moment, Liu Feng had already kindled a fierce scarlet flame. With a powerful swing, he unleashed a fiery dance that carved a scarlet streak across the sky.
"Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Flames filled the sky, with waves of intense heat rolling in, causing the surrounding mist to vanish in the sweltering heat.
Upon closer inspection, one could see strands of white mist intermingled with the flames, like impurities, severely slowing the circulation of arcane energy and diminishing its power. Liu Feng, even in the heat of battle, made a mental note to gradually assimilate the devil crystal in the future. The impact on combat was too significant, but fortunately, he had the Shelter of Water to rely on, or he wouldn't have been able to cast in time.
After five explosive bursts, the vines were ablaze, some reduced to mere ash. The tentacle monster roared in pain as its injured tendrils began to retreat. Liu Feng was gearing up for another Flame Burst when he noticed a pitch-black shadow silently materializing in front of the Shelter of Water—it was Qin Wu.
"Let's go. We've got what we came for," Qin Wu said coolly, transforming into a shadow and darting ahead.
The team wasted no time in the aftermath of the skirmish. Following Liu Feng's release of a Flame Burst, they quickly made their escape.
As they fled, Liu Feng examined his spiritual world and noticed a slight reduction in impurities. However, it was a minuscule amount compared to the vastness of white impurities within. He couldn't help but wonder how long it would take to cleanse it completely, as it was greatly affecting his combat abilities.
The tentacle monster, realizing its spirit seed had been stolen, let out an enraged roar and pursued Liu Feng and his companions.
The chase led them straight to the area where Lei Boshi had previously set up his sinister spider web. Lei Boshi's laugh was chillingly malevolent—a laugh that could only be inspired by the allure of arcane magic.
Liu Feng, recalling Lei Boshi's unsettling smile as he prepared the web, now felt a wave of unease wash over him in the face of such a wicked grin.
Qin Wu's hand ignited with a black light, burning like a flame yet devoid of heat, exuding a bone-chilling coldness as if powered by the Darkworld itself. A spear, forged from the dark aura, materialized in his grasp, radiating an eerily formidable presence as the pitch-black evil light shimmered ominously.
The tentacle monster, having expended considerable energy, finally caught up, only to be met with a pitch-black spear brimming with dark energy, plummeting from the heavens! From a distance, it resembled a black arrow, launched at supersonic speed, slicing through the sky before shattering the void and vanishing in a flash.
Now, the dark spear stood firmly atop the shadow of the tentacle monster, which struggled in vain to advance, its claws scraping the ground in desperation, yet it found itself immobilized. Turning to its shadow, the monster saw the immense spear firmly embedded there, like a nail sealing its fate.
This was the Shadow Binding, a low-level third-tier arcane from the shadow category.
"Open the sky!" Lei Boshi bellowed, and a massive net descended abruptly, materializing from nowhere with startling suddenness.
The tentacle monster gazed upward at the looming net and thrashed wildly. The shadow spear quivered incessantly, threatening to collapse at any moment.
Yet, in an instant, the net fell silently upon the tentacle monster, the once colorless threads slowly staining blood-red as they clung to the creature, seemingly draining its power.
The demon convulsed wildly, emitting piercing screams, but there was no sympathy to be found—only silent observers. These otherworldly demons had ravaged countless cities, slain innumerable humans, and torn apart many families.
This net was an intermediate curse arcane, capable of siphoning the strength of an enemy's soul—an eerie and formidable power.
Now, the once trembling spear stood still, embedded in the demon's flesh, silent and motionless.
"Soul Condensing!" Lei Boshi commanded. The net, now a sinister shade of red from the absorbed blood, lifted from the body of the tentacle monster. It hovered, then began to contract, eventually forming a ghostly silhouette that seemed to capture the monster's final thoughts—a residual soul, identical to the tentacle monster's. The soul flailed, but under Lei Boshi's direction, it was gently drawn into the magic weapon in his grasp, finally finding peace.
Despite the tentacle monster having more than half of its soul drained, it clung to life. The presence of the Shadow Spear was fading, and the creature was poised for a final, desperate counterattack.
Lei Boshi bellowed, "Attack, full firepower, now!"
Liu Feng was at the forefront, alternating between his left and right hands, casting Flame Burst with each. "Boom! Boom! Boom!" echoed his attacks.
Lei Boshi unleashed a low-level Arcane Thunderbolt, while Ai Xinran conjured a water whip, lashing it against the tentacle monster with resounding snaps.
Qin Wu, meanwhile, gathered a dark energy around his hand, forming a black blade, and with a swift motion, he struck. A Dark Blade, brimming with dark aura, soared from his hand like a crescent moon, cleaving the demon in two.
The tentacle monster met its end without a fight.
Liu Feng couldn't help but reflect on the ruthlessness of Lei Boshi's team. They began with Shadow Binding, followed by a net of curses, and then collectively pummeled the monster. It made the demon seem trivial, barely even managing to unleash its illusions before being beaten to death. It was clear why Wen Lu felt secure with Lei Boshi—such tactics were undeniably effective.
Qin Wu's recent display of the Dark Blade, an intermediate shadow arcane, caught Liu Feng's attention. Despite Qin Wu's arrogance and unlikability, he was undeniably skilled.
After delivering the final blow, Qin Wu glanced over at Liu Feng with a hint of scorn, taunting, "See that? Shadow Arcane. I doubt you'll ever catch up to me in this lifetime, hahaha..."
Liu Feng remained silent, a slight smirk playing at the corner of his mouth. Little did Qin Wu know, he possessed the rare Twin Magical Talents.
