C7 Nine Extremes True Body!

"I let my guard down!"

Chen Fann stared at the bones scattered on the ground, his face lined with frustration. The technique had a serious downside—if the enemy turned to bones, how could he possibly absorb their cultivation?

"Who would've thought that after taking in the poison from the Five Poison Chaos Origin, my Myriad Poisonous Hand would become this powerful?" he mused. It was an unexpected boon, to be sure.

But something felt off. Why was it so eerily quiet?

Chen Fann's senses heightened as he realized the unusual silence. He scanned his surroundings.

Most villagers were peeking out from behind closed doors, their eyes filled with fear. Only Xiao Qin stood frozen in place, tears swirling in her eyes.

Wuwuwu...

"Dad, can you see? The bully is finally gone!" Xiao Qin's sobs were heart-wrenching, as if she were unburdening years of pent-up sorrow.

Chen Fann fell silent.

"Power can transform a person, for better or worse, once they can dictate the fate of others. But who can truly predict which way they'll turn?" he reflected.

His gaze drifted to Chao Tianhu, then inward to himself.

With the ancient Vicious Beast Taotie on his side, his rise seemed inevitable. Yet, his ascent was paved with death. If he were to slaughter without discretion, his cultivation would skyrocket.

But was that the legacy he wanted?

The question weighed on him, his thoughts drifting further.

"Why overthink it? 'Do no harm unless harmed. Stay true to yourself.' That's the way forward." With this realization, Chen Fann felt a weight lift from his shoulders, and his mood lightened.

Ignoring the villagers' wary eyes, he took Xiao Qin by the hand, her tears still flowing, and headed toward her home.

As the sun dipped low, casting long shadows, the village road stretched before them, uneven and pitted. A large path ran straight through, flanked by gently babbling streams.

"Xiao Qin, there's something important I need to tell you."

"Big brother, whatever it is, I'll listen to you," she said trustingly.

Chen Fann hesitated only a moment before revealing, "The Resurrection Lily is toxic; it definitely can't be used to save your brother!"

"Toxic? What are we going to do?" Xiao Qin's panic was palpable, her tears flowing freely. "Big brother, please, you must save him!"

"Alright, alright. If it's within my power, I promise I'll save your brother," Chen Fann assured her, though the plea tugged at his heartstrings. He could hardly bear to see the little girl cry.

He sighed, his mind wandering back to their first meeting when she was just a child.

Chen Fann's thoughts turned to the Ye family, to Ye Xiongtian's daughter, Ye Jieyi.

Times had changed. Having absorbed his Golden Core, Ye Jieyi was bound to become a prodigy. Once she joined the Blackheaven Sect, she would surely be groomed for greatness.

"But one way or another, what's mine will be returned," he murmured to himself.

"Big brother, we're almost at my home!"

Chen Fann snapped back to the present and saw the imposing red door of a single, stately house. Two stone lions stood guard, their presence solemn and dignified—a stark contrast to the humble countryside setting.

Before Chen Fann could voice his curiosity, Xiao Qin, biting back tears, pushed the door open and stepped inside.

Each lost in their own thoughts, they continued on in silence.

Xiao Qin navigated the courtyard with ease, Chen Fann trailing just behind her. They came to a halt at an alcove.

"What's wrong? Scared to go inside?"

"Big brother, I'm frightened. If I can't cure my brother, I'll have lost all my family."

"Don't be scared. We have to confront whatever comes our way," Chen Fann reassured her, gently ruffling Xiao Qin's hair. "Moreover, things might not turn out as badly as you think."

"Kid, I'm picking up on a familiar presence!" Taotie, residing within his dantian, suddenly opened his eyes, expressing his confusion.

"A familiar presence?" Chen Fann echoed, taken aback. Anything that Taotie recognized was bound to be out of the ordinary, prompting him to sharpen his focus.

The path of cultivation was fraught with peril, akin to treading on thin ice. One misstep in the face of the unknown could lead to an untimely end, with no clue as to what went wrong.

Entering the room, they found it shrouded in darkness as night descended. Xiao Qin expertly lit each lamp, chasing away the shadows.

The dim light was enough for Chen Fann to see what he needed—a young man in a white silk robe lay motionless on the bed, showing no signs of life.

Was he dead?

"He's not dead," Taotie declared with gravity.

"What's caused this bizarre condition?"

"It's the Five Senses Sealing," Taotie explained with a sigh. "I never expected to encounter such a force here."

"Five Senses Sealing?"

"Human interaction with the world relies on five senses—sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. Seal just one, and you lose a whole dimension of perception."

Pausing, Taotie added, "Seal all five, and you sever their connection to the world entirely. It's an incredibly potent method."

"That's remarkable! But I'm puzzled. Why would someone capable of such a spell target a junior?"

"You're overthinking it. There's no one on this continent skilled enough to wield such advanced magic!"

"Then what?" Chen Fann was thoroughly baffled by Taotie's words.

"The young man possesses a rare treasure that's been imbued with the Five Senses Sealing. Somehow, the seal was activated, affecting him directly."

"A rare treasure?" The possibility hadn't crossed Chen Fann's mind. He glanced at the young man, whose fair and delicate features were tinged with pallor.

What a stroke of fortune this man has had!

A twinge of envy surfaced in Chen Fann, but it quickly dissipated. With Taotie as his ally, he already had the greatest fortune imaginable. There was no need for envy.

"Kid, don't you want to claim it for yourself?"

"No!"

"Oh? And why not?"

"He's done me no harm. To take his treasure would make me no better than Ye Xiongtian."

Taotie shook his head, dropping the subject. Some lessons had to be lived to be understood.

"Big brother, what about my brother? Can he be saved?" Xiao Qin's voice trembled with anxiety, dreading the possibility of hearing the worst.

"Be patient," Chen Fann soothed her. Before he could consult Taotie, the answer he sought came to him.

With renewed focus, Chen Fann extended his right hand as Taotie had instructed. The devouring rune blazed to life, splitting into five and settling on his fingertips.

With a swift motion, he pressed down, and the rune's power surged forth. Five luminous figures emerged on the young man's body—each one detectable only by a specific method. Had Taotie not forewarned him, Chen Fann would never have guessed at the existence of such an extraordinary spell.

Without a moment's hesitation, the runes on his fingertips pulsed in an odd rhythm. An ineffable sensation welled up within him.

"Now is the time—break the seal!" Chen Fann bellowed, as a brilliant light erupted from his right hand and he slammed it down forcefully.

Pop!

A crisp sound echoed as the five figures of light vanished in an instant.

Weng~

A wave of dizziness washed over him, and a voice unexpectedly rang out in Chen Fann's mind: "Nine Extremes True Body!"

In the next moment, amidst the chaotic haze of his soul's sea, a towering figure emerged, only to fade away just as quickly.

What remained were ancient characters, flickering persistently.
