C15 Let Me See

In the jewelry store, although the number of customers wasn't particularly high, there were still about six or seven people around. Initially, everyone was engaged in their own activities, but suddenly, an incident occurred that captured everyone's attention. In a split second, all eyes were drawn to the source of the commotion. Yun Buhui was no exception.

The young woman accompanying the little girl quickly rushed forward to help her sister stand. But as soon as she lightly touched the girl's leg, the child couldn't bear the pain. Her knee had swollen up considerably. Sitting on the ground, the little girl's face was contorted in pain as tears streamed down her cheeks.

The man in his thirties who had entered with the two women wore a look of icy anger upon witnessing the scene.

"What's going on with your jewelry store? Why is the floor so slippery? Now my sister has injured her leg. What are you going to do about it? We need an explanation! If we don't get one today, this won't be the end of it!" The middle-aged man yelled at the staff before quickly crouching down to check on his sister. "How are you feeling, little sis? Is your leg alright? Maybe we should head to the hospital right now!"

"Don't touch me, my leg is in pain. It feels like it's broken. Oh my God! What am I going to do if my leg is broken? I need to dance. I don't want to lose my leg!" The little girl sobbed uncontrollably, her tears flowing even more as she voiced her fears.

Seeing his sister in such distress, the man's anger intensified. "Get your boss out here now! If this jewelry store doesn't cough up a few million today, you won't hear the end of it!"

"A few million?"

Yun Buhui overheard this and couldn't help but smirk. "This guy is really going for the throat. It's just a twisted ankle, why is he being so aggressive?"

Amidst the ongoing commotion, a neatly dressed woman descended the stairs. She was a young woman, around thirty, and strikingly beautiful. Even when compared to the little girl, she held her own. She approached with a smile on her face.

"I'm terribly sorry about this. It must have been an oversight by our cleaning staff. Let's not waste any time and head straight to the hospital. Don't worry about the cost; we'll cover it." The Jewelry Store Boss was not one to be taken lightly. She genuinely acknowledged that they bore responsibility for any accidents occurring on their premises. It was a situation they had to confront head-on; there was no escaping it.

"What kind of joke is this? Are you aware of what my sister does for a living? She has a performance scheduled for tomorrow, and now your shoddy establishment has injured her leg. Do you have any idea how significant this setback is? Can you even begin to assume responsibility for this?"

"Don't assume that asking for a few million is over the top, making you feel like you're at a huge loss. Let me tell you, if my sister can't perform tomorrow, our losses will amount to much more than just a few million."

Upon hearing this, Yun Buhui, who was standing to the side, couldn't help but smirk even more. He thought the man was grossly exaggerating. Missing a dance performance could cost a few million? That's laughable. Even top-tier actors don't make that much from a single dance performance. We're talking millions here!

"Sir, the patient's well-being should be our top priority. Surely, you wouldn't want this young lady to suffer any long-term consequences due to delayed treatment," the Jewelry Store Boss said calmly. While speaking, she began to survey the area and noticed her cleaner still mopping the floor in a nearby corner.

"Sister Liu, there's no need for you to come in tomorrow. How many times must I remind you to wring out the mop properly? Never leave water on the floor. Now that there's been an incident, the blame falls on you. I won't ask for compensation, but you don't need to come to work tomorrow. Later, please settle this month's wages with the accounting department."

Sister Liu, the cleaner, was a woman in her fifties. Her age wasn't particularly advanced, but her face bore the marks of a hard life. Her hair was pulled back into a long ponytail, streaked with gray that hinted at her years. Upon hearing the news, her expression turned to one of distress.

"Please, Boss, don't fire me. My whole family depends on the money I earn here to get by. If you let me go, what will become of us? And truly, the floor isn't wet – feel for yourself." As she spoke, Sister Liu crouched down and ran her hand across the floor to prove that it was indeed dry.

Upon witnessing the incident, the jewelry store boss knelt down and meticulously wiped the floor. It was indeed dry, not a trace of moisture to be found. With a moment's reflection, she realized that the mishap wasn't Sis Liu's fault at all. The young woman's heels were excessively high, and her hurried pace had caused her to slip. Nevertheless, since the incident occurred within her store, she knew she couldn't shirk responsibility.

"Let's focus on getting this young lady medical attention first," she suggested. "Discussing anything else seems premature at this point."

The man bristled at her words. He thought he was being more than reasonable, and here the store owner was, trying to dodge accountability.

"If that's your stance, I won't press you," he retorted. "You might value a few million, but to me, it's insignificant. If you can get my sister back on her feet right now, I won't demand a penny from you, and I'll continue shopping here as usual. If not, then produce the money quickly and spare me the excuses! Three million, not a cent less!"

Amidst the standoff, Buhui unintentionally channeled his Reputation Points, focusing them into his eyes. To his surprise, this allowed him to clearly assess the young woman's injuries. Her leg bones were intact; it was merely a soft tissue sprain.

While Buhui could not heal every ailment, being only a Grade Two Apprentice, soft tissue damage was well within his capabilities. Naturally, treating her would require the use of some Reputation Points.

"Your sister's leg bones are fine," he explained. "Judging by her fall and the pain she's in, it seems like a soft tissue sprain. If you trust me, I can have her leg back to normal in under five minutes. If you'd rather not, that's your choice. This situation really doesn't involve me financially."

Initially, Buhui had no intention of intervening, but seeing the young lady on the ground, contorted with pain, stirred his compassion. Besides, he found the middle-aged man's behavior excessive. It was just a sprain; why resort to extortion? Especially for several million—it was downright disgraceful.

"Can you really heal people, young man?" The Jewelry Store Boss eyed Yun Buhui skeptically. Yet, upon seeing him nod, she breathed a sigh of relief.

"Is what you said earlier true, young man?" The thirty-something man scrutinized Yun Buhui, noting his plain clothes and youthful appearance, which left him somewhat doubtful.

"As I've said before, if you trust me, I'll treat you. If not, that's your choice. It's no concern of mine. Honestly, if it weren't for the fact that the lady is in such pain, I wouldn't even bother engaging with you," Yun Buhui expressed his frustration with the man, his patience wearing thin with those who tried to take advantage of him.

The man didn't take offense to Yun Buhui's words. People with talent often carried a hint of arrogance. "In that case, I ask for your help. If you can truly heal my sister's leg, we'll be extremely grateful. You have my word!"

"No thanks are necessary. I'm just lending a hand, not in it for the money."

Yun Buhui wasn't being noble for the sake of money; he simply lacked the official medical credentials. Assisting was one thing, but accepting payment could lead to legal trouble if things went awry.

"Bring a chair over here," Yun Buhui directed the two security guards standing nearby. They had been with him for quite some time, but had they ever slacked off? The guards exchanged glances, and one whispered to Yun Buhui, "Please, don't overdo it. If it's beyond you, better not to intervene."

The sincere advice instantly eased Yun Buhui's irritation. With a slight smile, he acknowledged the guards with a nod. Seeing his response, they no longer insisted and soon brought a chair for the girl grimacing in pain.

With her sister and brother-in-law's assistance, the young girl managed to sit down on the chair, though it was clearly a struggle. Yun Buhui approached and gently rested his hand on her ankle. Despite the apparent swelling around her knee, the actual injury was located at her ankle.

Carefully manipulating the area with his hands, Yun Buhui discreetly channeled his Reputation Points into the girl's leg during the process. This infusion would alleviate her pain during the healing process, ensuring she could bear it.

Yun Buhui then applied his distinctive massage techniques. In a short while, he realigned the dislocated bones. This endeavor cost him another five Reputation Points, but the outcome justified the expense as he successfully repaired the damaged soft tissue in the girl's leg. The entire procedure was executed with seamless precision, and in under five minutes, he had thoroughly completed the task.

"In the future, when picking out shoes, steer clear of high heels," he advised. "You're already quite tall. Wearing high heels will only make us men feel even shorter by comparison. Besides, high heels can be quite detrimental to your health."
