C45 Father's Joy

Yun Haoyan strode over to the two-ton limestone and heaved it up with considerable effort.

Exerting all his might, Yun Haoyan finally managed to lift the massive stone.

"It seems that without tapping into Spiritual Energy, my maximum strength hovers around two tons.

A typical Martial Warrior at level nine possesses a strength of about one ton. My strength is double that.

Cosmic Unification truly is an exceptional cultivation technique. I certainly chose wisely."

Having just completed his first cycle of reincarnation, Yun Haoyan's strength was undoubtedly far superior to that of other Martial Cultivators.

In addition to his formidable strength, Yun Haoyan's defensive capabilities had also significantly improved.

"If I reach the tenth cycle, I doubt I'd feel a thing even if a normal Martial Warrior at level nine struck me."

Yun Haoyan caressed his skin, murmuring to himself.

Cosmic Unification was unbeatable among peers.

Yun Haoyan believed that after his tenth reincarnation, he would be ready to take on challengers of a higher caliber.

Adjusting his attire, Yun Haoyan strode out confidently.

"Young Master, the master awaits you in the study!"

A servant from the Yun family had been waiting outside. Upon seeing Yun Haoyan emerge, he quickly bowed and said.

"Looking for me?" Yun Haoyan replied with a smile, "Very well, I'm on my way."

"Father, what did you want to see me about?" Yun Haoyan inquired as he pushed open the study door, addressing Yun Hai seated in the chair.

Yun Hai, hearing his son's voice, set aside the book he was reading and said, "Haoyan, there you are! I heard you spent all of last night at your master's. Were you studying alchemy with him?"

"Yes!" Yun Haoyan replied, barely concealing his amusement.

He hadn't anticipated his father's interest in this matter. He was indeed eager to learn alchemy from his master, but his master was not in a position to teach him.

"Good!" Yun Hai responded with delight to his son's confirmation, then looked at Yun Haoyan anxiously and asked, "And how is your talent for pill refining?"

"My talent for pill refining?" Yun Haoyan pondered, tilting his head slightly. He responded, "It's quite decent. My master says I have a top-grade Fire Element Hidden Spiritual Root, which gives me strong control over flames, making me well-suited for alchemy. In fact, I can already refine first-grade Qi Refining Pills!"

"Really?" exclaimed Yun Hai, rising from his chair with excitement. "Come with me to the ancestral hall."

"Why go to the ancestral hall when today isn't a special occasion?" Yun Haoyan inquired, puzzled.

"Our son has been blessed with such talent; it's only right that we inform our ancestors and share the joy with them," Yun Hai replied, chuckling heartily.

Shortly thereafter, Yun Hai and Yun Haoyan donned black garments and made their way to the Yun family's ancestral hall.

"Yun Haoyan, these are the ancestors who have tirelessly served the Yun family. We honor them annually, and I'm sure you're well-acquainted with them," Yun Hai remarked.

Yun Haoyan thought to himself, "Familiar? How could I not be, when it's been over ten thousand years since my last visit?"

In his past life, the Yun family had fallen, and their ancestral hall lay in ruins. He had no means to pay homage to his forebears, even if he had wished to.

"Let us pay our respects together," Yun Hai said, kneeling on a cushion before the hall.

Yun Haoyan followed suit, adopting Yun Hai's posture to venerate their ancestors. Despite his status as a Pill God, he humbly knelt before them.

After all, no matter the heights he had reached as a Pill God, he remained a scion of the Yun family, with their blood coursing through his veins.

"Today, I, Yun Hai, have joyous news for our ancestors. I am grateful for your blessings upon the Yun family over the years. We now have an alchemist among us. I have brought him here to meet you, and we seek your continued blessings from the heavens," Yun Hai announced.

With that, he bowed deeply, his forehead touching the floor several times in reverence to the ancestors.

In that moment, Yun Hai shed all semblance of patriarchal authority, his demeanor that of an innocent child.
